It's been a productive day...

I've been really busy at work recently but today I felt so productive! I love it when you plan out your time but you make it through things much quicker, and even when people throw things at you last minute, you still manage to stay ahead of the game.

I use my Outlook calendar a lot and I when I know I have work to do that has a deadline, I like to book out blocks of time in my calendar to work on it. Some of my colleagues have separate calendars for this so that people don't think they're always busy but I prefer it that way. If I need to work on something I don't want people bothering me with unnecessary meetings.

I am in charge of a meeting in Edinburgh on Monday so my plan for today was to complete my preparations. This involved reviewing a lot of documents, sharing information with the other people coming and collating stats. Very boring. Very tedious. But it had to be done. Luckily I had a good amount of support from a colleague who seemed to feel my pain. I'd like to say I can't wait until the meeting is over but then I have to write up the minutes and get them approved so I'm guessing that will be a whole other world of pain!

I was given a last minute bit of work, which I said I would have time to do on Friday but then I managed to get on it this afternoon. It really involved searching for company details and there weren't a lot of results so it turned out to be a quick job.

I know some people would have done all this and thought "great, I've done more than I planned, amma chill now". But not me. Being productive and accomplishing more than I planned just makes me want to keep going and do more!

So here's to tomorrow - my plan is to study all day and I hope that's as productive a plan as today's was!
