"A Saturday flit means a short sit"

I did it. Its done. I moved house. And I will not be moving again for a very long time!

Saturday was moving day. It actually went pretty well. I had the bulk of my stuff packed by Friday night and I had taken a few things down to the new house before that so it was too big an operation. My fiance borrowed a van from work and my dad and sister helped us move everything. My fiance packed his stuff on Saturday and the only big piece of furniture he had to move was his bed. The bed wasn't a problem because you could break it down into pieces but the mattress was an absolute pain!

The difficulty was more once all the stuff was in the house. We bought a Billy unit from IKEA for the living room to house all the DVDs and books. By the time all the DVDs were in it (in alphabetical order, might I add, because clearly I'm marrying a psychopath) there was no space left. He just managed to get his Playstation games in it so we had to buy another unit for the books and put it upstairs.

I also had to have a good clear out of clothes because there just wasn't enough space for them all. I've been keeping clothes that I bought about 2 years ago in the vain hope that I will lose enough weight to fit into them again but my sister told me I should give it up. So I did and three bin bags worth of clothes went into the charity shop.

We went to the supermarket on Sunday and did our first big shop (god I sound old!) so the cupboards are stocked and we are good to go for this week. I've done about ten washings and washed about 50 sinks full of dishes. Clearly I'm becoming more domesticated by the day. I even hung a washing out before I went to work this morning!

I feel pretty organised with housework etc because if I see something needs a clean I'm just doing it rather than waiting until the weekend and doing it all at once. Also, I've suddenly become tidy which makes me wonder if I've secretly had a lobotomy. My organisation system in my room at my mum and dads was basically put it on the floor, then when you need it, spend 3 hours looking for it again. I think now that this is my house I'm taking more pride in how it looks. Also, my dad isn't there to clean up after me anymore!

Anyway, I will be working on a wee house tour video at some point (maybe this weekend if my fiance is out watching the football) and I'm currently editing my March favourites so that should be posted by the end of the week. I know I promised I would have it up sooner but I think I was a bit ambitious with that!

Hope you all have a great week and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

Louise xoxo
