KKW @ PFW: WTF?

If you're as obsessed with the Daily Mail as I am, I'm sure you were inundated with updates on Kim Kardashian West and her various outings at this year's Paris Fashion Week. I know I really shouldn't, but I love the Kardashians and the Jenners. Keeping up with them is so addictive! So I thought I would run through some of her styles and outfits from PFW - likes and dislikes, and some of my other highlights from the week.

First of all, we just had to address it - WHAT IS WITH THE HAIR!? I know Kanye prefers blondes but Kim please, it just doesn't work.

I did have a good chuckle at all the comparisons to Draco Malfoy and the fact that Jared Leto debuted his new blonde do the same day was just too much to handle.

I honestly cannot believe she dyed her hair platinum blonde. She went golden blonde just after North was born and I wasn't a major fan, but she looked ok. This is just weird. My first thought was "she looks like an alien". The slicked back look obviously contributed to that but it still just looked strange. She has quite a naturally tanned complexion and because her hair is naturally dark she now has blonde hair and black eyebrows. Eurgh.

It also worries me how much damage she is doing to her hair. Obviously her hair is naturally VERY dark and going to that extreme blonde (and in one trip to the hairdressers no less) must have stripped all the moisture. Also, its only two weeks later and she has already had her roots done twice.

Please Kim, go back to your gorgeous raven locks cause I was really feeling the shorter do on you!

Now, lets just get the negativity out of the way. A few of Kim's outfits in Paris were absolute horrors. I know she was in Paris and she was trying to be edgy and different, but I actually really like the way she dresses normally. Classy, a wee bit sexy if not sometimes a bit too monotone.

This the outfit she wore to the Louis Vuitton show. The frills and shape make her look so old and frumpy (two words I have NEVER used to describe KKW) its just awful. That skirt is something I'd expect to see on one of the Dugger girls from 19 Kids and Counting.

This is what she wore to the Lanvin show (I think this was the same day she debuted the blonde hair). I'm assuming the dress and jacket came separately. If they did, thank God for safety pins because we were very close to seeing a bit too much of her that day! The dress itself probably isnt that bad, a bit on the tacky side but the fact that she wore it with no bra and the coat only just covers her nipples is not a good look. Although to be fair, her boobs do look excellent. Nice work gurl! If she had worn a bandeau or a body suit I may have been more inclined to like it but for me, it just looks cheap.

KKW did wear quite a few good outfits at PFW. Now that she's taken more seriously in the fashion world (and Kanye is obviously putting his two cents in about what she wears) designers seem really keen to have her wearing their clothes. Sometimes she does go a bit over the top but I really liked a few of the outfits she put together.

This is the oufit she wore to the Balenciaga show. Now I love the outfit, but I also love the whole look she's got going on. I know what you're thinking, I just criticised her for wearing a dress that you could see through and here she is wearing something very similar but I like it? Whats with that? Well, firstly, I can clearly see she is wearing underwear, a nude bra and the bottom has a white panel underneath - I'm way more comfortable with that. Also, although see through, the pattern on this is much nicer and more flattering - the other dress was essentially fish net, a material I would normally expect to see on a stripper I also love the length and cut of the dress. You don't often see KKW in a dress this length but I think she suits it. I know she is quite short so a dress that length might drown her a little but I think the cut really flatters her shape. I also love that she teamed it with the camel fur coat (although I really hope its not real fur!) even if she seems to be boycotting the use of sleeves (that seemed to be a trend at PFW, they are there for a reason people, put your arms in them!). Finally, her hair and makeup are flawless. The deep side parting gives her hair a lovely vintage look which really compliments the outfit and her face had a glow to it that made her look absolutely stunning. Love it!

This look is from the Balmain show and was the day Kim first came out with her blonde hair. First of all, I love the coat. I saw someone else wearing it at the Balmain show and it was black with red edging and that looked amazing as well. I love the structured geometric shape and KKW looks very sheek in all black. You can't really see it in this photo but she is also wearing a black velvety Balmain dress. Kendall wore it the following night at a Balmain party and it is just a really cute, fun black dress that would really suit anyone! Kim always looks great in Balmain and this outfit was no different.

Now this is my absolute favourite of the week. Again Balmain, this is what Kim wore to their party the day after the show. Its so tassely and cow-girl-esque, but I just think its amazing. The way the material moves when she walks makes her look SO FABULOUS! I love that the tassles are almost a rose gold colour as well. So interesting and different, definitely the best outfit of PFW!

PFW In General

Paris is my favourite of all the fashion weeks. I really love the style of a lot of the European designers and although sometimes the designs they come up with are utterly ridiculous and unwearable, I love the ingenuity of a lot of them.

I was a bit disappointed in the Balmain collection this season. I thought it was very 70s with the flare-legged jumpsuits. I know taking some retro inspiration can often bring styles back into fashion but I think it just looked really dated and made a lot of the models look quite old.

I didn't particularly like the clothes at the Chanel show but the whole set up was amazing. It was in the Grand Palais in Paris and was set up like a Brasserie. So different! And there was so much space it seemed much more relaxed than been crammed into tiny rows around one long stage.

The YSL show was brilliant, but only thanks to Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller. They walked in the show to promote Zoolander 2 but they arrived and left in character. If any of you are on Snapchat, you'll have seen Ben Stiller grabbing the Snapchat guy's phone out of his hand. Hysterical. Clothes looked a bit Hawaiian shirt like, but the show was very entertaining!

I know this post has been a bit different to things I have done in the past but I want to try and mix it up and make the blog more interesting. I hope you all enjoyed it! Don't forget to check out my recent video on YouTube "February Favourites" (BronchusBoy) and my recent recipe for pulled pork!
